The Kerala Story (2023) Audience Reviews

"The Kerala Story" follows the journeys of three young girls hailing from different regions of Kerala, a state in India. The central character is Shalini, who becomes a focal point of the narrative. In the story, Shalini is abducted by unknown individuals and forced into converting to Islam against her will.

As time passes, Shalini undergoes a process of radicalization, where her beliefs and worldview become increasingly extreme. Influenced by those around her, she eventually gets entangled with ISIS, an international terrorist organization. Compelled by the ideologies instilled in her during the radicalization process, Shalini becomes a member of the group and participates in their activities as a terrorist.

It's worth noting that narratives involving abduction, forced religious conversion, and terrorism are sensitive topics. If a movie with a similar plot exists or is being developed, it's crucial to approach these subjects responsibly and accurately reflect the complexities involved. It's always important to consider the potential impact such narratives may have on real-world communities and individuals.

The cinematography in this film is stunning, with every shot beautifully crafted to capture the essence of Kerala's natural beauty. From the misty hills to the serene backwaters, each location feels like a character in its own right, adding depth and meaning to the story.
The acting in "Kerala Story" is also top-notch, with every actor delivering a powerful and nuanced performance. The characters are richly drawn and complex; you can't help but be drawn into their world and struggles.
What I love most about this movie is how it explores love, loss, and redemption themes with such sensitivity and depth. It is a profoundly human story that will touch your heart and leave you feeling inspired and hopeful.
Overall, "Kerala Story" is a masterpiece of cinema that deserves to be seen and celebrated. It is a testament to the power of storytelling and the resilience of the human spirit, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly unforgettable cinematic experience.

The Kerala Story! I'll be writing this thread for the first time viewers whose ability of anticipating the nuances of this particular fold that represents the Idea of Caliphate, Salafi, Jihad, Middle Eastern Colonialism are well not developed. You simply can't wake up from the bed and head towards a basketball tournament without holding a professional training.

I have been taking this particular exercise for more than 3 years which constitutes 200+ interviews, 100+ Terror stats across the Globe and India,, Traces of Terrorism and what not! The demographic balance is much more important here so consume this movie with the highest possible sanity or conscience.

My message to people who seemed very unhappy and are calling it a narrative for elections and political benefits.

One thing I would want you all to understand is you may call this movie a propoganda, you may not find it important or you may run away from reality but you can not abandon the Truth, it's not seeking your very validation, these series of events and incidents have been documented legally, the government and the courts have acknowledged the malicious practices being followed by Islamic Organisation like PFI. Hundreds and Thousands of such cases have been filed.

Treat every single case of Love Jihad, Forced Conversions to being a sex slave of ISIS as it's happened to our own sisters.

Kerala Story" is a must-watch movie that delivers a powerful and thought-provoking message about the reality of how innocent Hindu girls are being targeted by ISIS members for their own selfish motives. The film brilliantly portrays the gravity of the situation and the urgency of the need for the Hindu community to become more aware and awake to such atrocities.

The storyline is not only gripping but also emotionally impactful. The characters are well-developed and their performances are outstanding. The direction is top-notch, and the cinematography is stunning, capturing the beauty of Kerala, while also exposing the hidden dangers that lurk beneath the surface.

The film serves as a reminder that we must always remain vigilant and take proactive steps to safeguard our loved ones and communities from any potential threats. It highlights the importance of unity and raises awareness about the need to take action against such dangerous groups that seek to harm our society.

Overall, "Kerala Story" is a masterpiece that delivers a vital message in a compelling and entertaining manner. It is a movie that will leave you with a sense of hope and motivation to take action towards a safer and more secure future. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who seeks inspiration and enlightenment on this critical issue.

The movie is a brilliant enactment of the situation that has befallen the south indian state better known as gods own country.

If you are a fan of movies that narrate a story that is rich on heart and emotional context you will like this as the fact is that hundreds of such cases have come in to light where the bride to order and brain washing conversion and forced inclusion to ISIS into becoming the sex slaves of the savage religious fanatics was prevalent during the peak of ISIS recruitment drive.

The film brilliantly showcases the systematic breakdown of each important part of the conversion and supply protocol as much as the Mardaani sequence of human trafficking racket.

Adah Sharma shines and delivers her career best performance as Shalini Unnikrishnan aka Fathima who gets trapped and escapes from the clutches of these animals only to be later captured by Afghani / American joint forces.

The storytelling and the drama is spot on, the production by Vipul Amrutlal Shah was grade - 1, cinematography is top notch, music and other technical departments are also well done.

I watched The Kerala story today.
I am writing this review as per my POV you are welcome to have different opinions.

There are many things that we are not aware of but that doesn't mean it is not happening.
The Kerala story is about such events which covers conversions happening in kerala which may lead kerala to become a islamic state in coming years.

The movie does a good job in raising awareness about such gruesome incidents. It helps us to understand underlying reasons behind such issues and bravely sheds light on ISIS recruitment and how women are used as sex slaves not only from our "God's own country" Kerala but also from other parts of countries.

The movie exemplifies the methods used by groups to provoke or manipulate in believing or enforcing their way of life on targeted individuals and how foreign groups are involved.

No doubt it has a lot of potential to influence the audience in a negative way.
I like the fact that the film didn't glorify the horrors instead it offers a discussion full of facts and critical exploration of the subject.
Despite being such a serious matter, movie didn't loose it's grip over the intense storytelling.

Coming to the performances the cast does a commendable job. I can't begin to imagine sturggles of director to bring out such sensitive topic in front of the whole world.

The film begins with the interrogation of Shalini/Fatima Ba ( Adah Sharma ) by the Afghanistan authority, who has escaped after being captive in an ISIS hideout for a year.

The film then goes into flashbacks, where she narrates her story of how she ended up in the ISIS base in the Afghanistan-Turkey-Syria border.

The story goes back to when Shalini joined a nursing medical college in a district of Kerala and meet Geetanjali (Siddhi Idnani) and Nimah (Yogita Bihani), and another Muslim classmate Asifa (Sonia Balani), who soon starts her plan to brainwash the three girls and recruit them for ISIS.

Sudipto went raw with his content this time and gave some hard-hitting, and strong dialogue. When Shalini is informed that she can't get her phone back as Sharia law doesn't allow women to keep a phone with themselves, she responds with logic and says, 'Jab Sharia law bana tha, tab phone nahi the', and the narrative follows many such scenes, which left the audience smile and clap in the theatre.

The narrative also shows how the fear of Allah is fed to the girls with scripted attacks, fake love angles, and sexual intimacy with an aim to impregnate the women so that they can be taken to Syria at an ISIS base.

Amid the dark elements and a couple of cruel rape scenes, the makers also a glimpse of the culture and beauty of Kerala.

However, the film is based on half-truths and is based on a few statistics. However, when it comes to hard evidence, we all go empty-handed. It's a good debatable topic but the real truth is what we all want to know. Well, the film will make you all Google the real story. So, Good Luck with that!

The Kerala Story review :

Not as hard hitting and engaging as The Kashmir Files (2022), The Kerala Story is still a pertinent take on the religious conversions which we keep hearing in the news. The fact that these Hindu women were not just converted but also instigated to join the ISIS as sex slaves makes for a chilling and compelling watch.

The subtle manner in which the brain washing starts... and where it finally ends is accurately depicted in the movie. The desert locales have an authentic look and the performances from the entire cast, particularly Adah Sharma is first rate. Vipul Amrutlal Shah has touched a daringly realistic subject this time and done fair justice to it though the film has its share of flaws.

The background score jars at times. The Malayalam dialogues with sudden Hindi words in between don't work. And frankly, the easy peasy way in which the two nursing students get convinced by their conniving roommate to change their religion appears a tad too convenient from a writing perspective. The entire brain washing process needed more gravitas..

Having said that, The Kerala Story is a relevant piece of cinema. Such 'love jihad' incidents have indeed taken place and will continue until we have strict enforceable laws in place. This film will at least pose as a warning or a deterrant to the impressionable youngsters falling in to this vicious trap. Recommended stuff!!

THE KERALA STORY is one of the must watch movie for the people.....it tells every Hindu the way how they should feel proud about their sanatan dharm their culture and their rituals....
This movie tells abt the reality happening in the places like MANGLORE , KERALA AND KASARGODH.....
The only thing I can say that this movie can light up the minds of every pupil and make them to have a strong belief in their DHARMA....

Dear Hindu's let's unite...there is no need to hate Muslims or fight with them to save our religion or our heritage .... instead we need to teach our generation friends, our future generations
abt the history of our religion, our culture, our belief, our heritage ...we need to study the epical writing like Bhagavad Gita from our childhood days itself ..

Problem gets created when we start to think low abt our religion and start developing interest on other religions beliefs...we are supposed to feel proud abt our sanatan dharm...

There is no need of any review abt this film ... because the movie itself speaks a lot abt it❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

This movie is just a EPIC...

This movie is a mirror to the happening incidents in Mangalore and Kerala not just these places it includes many more places which are hidden from our eyes...

LET'S FEEL PROUD OF BEING A HINDU AND ALSO PROUD ABOUT FOLLOWING OUR SANATAN DHARM 🚩🚩

This movie has got all my heart ❤️❤️

A must watch movie for every person. It's a movie that will shake your ground.
The movie "Kerala Story" delves into an issue that is often overlooked by non-Muslims and highlights its relevance to them, despite not being directly related to their own family. Interfaith marriages typically involve non-Muslim girls converting to Islam, as opposed to Muslim girls converting to Hinduism or Christianity. This is an observation that I have noticed around me. The film presents a sensitive topic that people often shy away from discussing, out of concern for offending their Muslim friends. I may say that numbers may not be 100 percent accurate but even if it's a case of a single female even then this force conversion is wrong. PFI is not the only organization that is involved in such type of inhumane act but 100 of other sleeper cells are there. It's a responsibility of each one of us to make that we teach our kid the value and culture of our religion so that if someone try to brainwash they, they can challenge it face to face . In this way only we can save our future generations.

Shocked, and speechless after watching. This was painful to watch and extremely painful that thought of those girls who had gone through🥺. It is an evidence based full of facts film, and definitely requires a great courage to make.
After "The Kashmir files" this is yet another shock, which every one should watch in theaters.
An Eye opener for all those who are interested into materialistic life and have lost interest in their imbibed culture.
Movie has depicted well the prevalent hazardous activity which if not controlled may give massive bolt.
Especially the 2nd half will make your eyes in tears and parallelly boils your blood against the evils in the society.
#Adah Sharma is terrific.
A tight salute to the director, the producer and all the actors. Thankyou so much for making this movie I mean showing us truth ...I know For some people it will be just a story but be sure when it's your turn you will know what is the the hell or something 🤬😡 be ready India 🇮🇳 and world..

Saw The Kerala Story. An extraordinary film. It made me think again of how the problem with us, especially Hindus, is that we grow up without any systematic study of our own religions and thus cannot counter any argument against it, our own knowledge being dim. Our education, which aims to empower us, is incomplete as religion matters and all religions are not the same.

Religion means a way of life, based on certain faiths. And it's a reality that people of different religions, like Hindus, Mu ...MORE

I recently watched "The Kerala Story," and I wanted to share my thoughts with you. It's a thought-provoking film that tackles the sensitive issue of ISIS recruitment from Kerala. I must say, it was quite courageous of the filmmakers to delve into such a controversial topic.

This movie has lies and truths mixed in it. I don't think this movie is a propaganda. I do think what happened to Shalini and her friends was real but I refuse to believe that 32,000 Hindu and Christian girls were converted to Islam and forced to work for ISIS. The Observer Research Foundation notes that around 60 to 70 individuals has joined ISIS from kerala between 2014 and 2018. The US department of state in its 2020 report on terrorism had documented that there were a total of sixty six individuals from India who were affiliated to the ISIS at that time. The numbers may be more but definately not 32,000

I don't think this kind of movie is to be shown anywhere because this will create a conflict between the religion We all know that terrorism is there but it doesn't mean that whole community is to be blamed. This type of movie which targeted only one community whether it's Hindu or Muslims or any other community should be banned because already there is a cold war between Hindu & Muslim & because of this type of movies this war will widened instead of lessen. May be the story is true but presentation of this movie is really full of toxicity as it targetted only one community.
Its quite obvious that the movie is worthwatching and Hindu will support this but definitely the one whom u r targeting they will not support and this lead to a war again between us so please dont spread hatred among us by presenting this kind of screening. People please be aware and think what is right and what is wrong..

Tbh and tecnically speaking, this movie has a great screenplay, good cinematography, good direction, brilliant performance by adah sharma. The emotions are real, the feelings are real. But, some of the scenes are so unrealistic and laugh worthy. On the whole, This movie is not as great as most of the people are saying giving it 5 stars neither is this movie as bad some one starrers are saying.

Note : I don't want to argue with somebody with their perspective here, I am just expressing my thoughts after watching the movie "Kerala story"! I am not a Hindu, Muslim ,Christian or any other particular party hardcore believer, My parents taught me to respect everyone as mine.

An eye opener for seculars - All with family should watch. I was eagerly waiting for this movie to watch first day with family..The victim and the parents of the victims speak at the end of the movie makes blood to boil against the radicals.
A must watch movie with evidence based..The catholic girl in the movie speaks with the inspector outlines the facts. The former Kerala CM, Achutanandn's reveal on the conversion, how hindu and Christian girls are trapped in the name of fake love and later how they make use, convert to Islam, Supporting ISIS all made effectively..

The second half of the movie makes your eyes tears and in parallel boils your blood..

Thanks to the production team to bring and show the facts to audience.

Why 5 stars?

This movie definitely brings awareness against the evils in the society and parents to keep an eye with their loved ones...

Gripping direction

Stellar performance - Ada sharma and the all other leading actors delivered stellar performance

Beautiful photography and background music

Watched Kerala Story.

It is really an wonderful movie and you must know it is not against any religion. It has shown the truth that, how ISIS planned to create human supply chain from Kerala using the "Hindu Secular Communist" mindset applying Love Jihad as a tool.

I believe people irrespective of religions must watch this movie if he or she really hates ISIS ideology by heart.

And lastly, I must acknowledge, this movie is an artistic master piece created by another Bengali Director Sudipto Sen. Proud for him.

For me, best scene was Communist parents were crying in front of the dead body of their daughter and behind the wall, a big picture of Lenin and Marx is hanging. It was really a perfect cinematic representation of the whole movie.

You must watch it.

I believe everyone has more or less heard the word sex slave either from notebooks, papers, or TV. Even if you wish to not believe it, the fact that there are many girls who are missing from their families while you are watching the movie remains unchanged. I always had a keen interest in these kinds of movies and facts from childhood, and I love gathering facts not only based on movies but based on facts stated by history as well. This movie by Sudipto Sen is a must-watch regardless of whoever adopts it in whatever ways. Also, at the end of the day, I thank my God that I have never faced this kind of extremity or atrocity in my life before and pray that the divine power never lets me face this ever. Furthermore, I pity those girls who are facing all this. Though, without pity, there is nothing much that I can do for them, I can still pray. Highly recommended film.

The movie keeps you engaged throughout. This one is not to spread hate but to spread general awareness, which is to not fall out, whatever the reason may be.

I'm really happy that atleast someone has accumulated all his guts and made this film to show what and how actually things happen in God's Own Country and also in the Religion of Peace.

When Adah Sharma who played the role kf Shalini who was converted to Fatima said, "ISIS kyun join kiya ye janne se pehle ye janna zaroori hai ki ISIS kaise join kiya." Roaming around in the streets of a particular Assembly Constituency in Chhattisgarh where conversion is on its peak I really felt it when she said that. Even the Aadivasi Samaj here is scared of erosion of their identity and the way how THEY are making attempts to capture everything. I know here the Religion is different but the motive is same.

The Kerala Story is based on real incidents,
The main problem lies with our stupid Hindu girls who fall for such things. Woke Hindu girls don't know their limits and are an easy target and it's a bitter truth.

A must watch for all.
